September is Basic Education and Literacy Month in Rotary, and the Rotary Club of Edmond is proud to live out this area of focus right here in our community. Education is at the heart of opportunity, and our members are committed to ensuring Edmond students have the support they need to thrive.

On the very first day of school, Edmond Rotarians welcomed students at Scissortail Elementary, helping them find their classrooms and start the year with confidence. A warm smile, a friendly hello, and a little guidance made a big difference for students and families navigating a new school year.

That commitment continued on September 9, when our club partnered with the Edmond Public Schools Foundation to support classrooms across the district through DonorsChoose. On this special match day, Rotary members’ generosity helped complete 102 classroom projects, putting $41,949 into classrooms and creating 15,953 student experiences—all in a single day!

One teacher shared: “Your donation will make a tremendous difference in our daily learning environment, and we are incredibly grateful.”

From welcoming students at the door to funding resources inside the classroom, Edmond Rotary is proud to champion education and literacy for every student. Together, we are building stronger schools, stronger futures, and a stronger Edmond.
