Stephenson Cancer Center

Robert Mannel, MD, has been Director of the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center since 2006 achieving NCI Designation in 2018. He is a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
 

Dr. Mannel currently serves as a Chair for NRG Oncology, one of four national non-profit organizations that make up the NCI’s National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN).
 

A graduate of the University of Texas College of Medicine at Galveston, Dr. Mannel completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. After his residency he pursued a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine and joined the faculty at the OU Health Sciences Center in 1989.

He served as Chairman of the OU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1997 to 2013 and has been active in numerous statewide health initiatives.
